I am Claudette

I’m Claudette De Witt, a proud mom to two incredible kids: a 23-year-old neurotypical son, and my 11-year-old daughter, Charlotte, who brings endless joy and inspiration to our lives, navigating the world with her beautiful autistic perspective. Besides being a mom, I’m also a registered Specialist Wellness Counselor and the founder of Free State Autism Support 4 Parents, a cozy community where understanding and support flourish.

I still vividly remember the day Charlotte was diagnosed with level 2 autism eight years ago. It was a rollercoaster of emotions – confusion, fear, relief, and ultimately, an overwhelming desire to connect with others who understood our journey. That’s what sparked the idea for our support group, born out of a deep need for connection and understanding. From humble beginnings, our little group has blossomed into a vibrant community of 160 amazing members.

My passion lies in providing a listening ear, offering practical advice, and sharing in your triumphs and challenges. Whether you’re navigating the complexities of grief, seeking acceptance, or simply looking for a friendly chat, I’m here for you every step of the way.

At the heart of my work is the belief that every family, no matter its shape or size, deserves to thrive. Together, let’s create a supportive environment where everyone can flourish and grow, embracing the unique journey of each family member.
